The walls were paper thin, and I could hear every cough and sneeze from next door. The en-suite? Oh, it was a closet rather than a bathroom! I expected a complimentary upgrade for my trouble, but that woudl ve been too much to ask, it seems. I almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

Very good service and a nice pool onsite. Good food options. Location very close to the two nearby pubs, Taupo and the Chattel and Turangi instead of Taupo.

Recommend it for couples seeking comfort

The setting was charming and the gardens were beautifully kept. We enjoyed a cozy evening on the cottage deck, soaking in the sun before dinner.

It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but that was acceptable.

The atmosphere of Sportmans Lodge was great. The lounge with the open fire was second to none and the bed in our room was so comfortable. Will definately be back when we are heading south. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay

What a wonderful find this was! The convenient location made it easy to stroll around and take in the nearby attractions, like the beautiful tongariro river walkway and the vibrant pihanga art gallery, while the friendly staff and shared facilities were great for unwinding after a day of exploration.

Had a cozy stay in a lodge room after a long drive. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the shower was super clean! Just a shame the rooms felt a bit on the small side. Great value for a quick stop. Would definitely recommend it.
